This website, humagoyal.com, is the personal site of Dr Huma Goyal — a researcher, engineer and author based in the United Kingdom. It is a static, single-page site: there is no account to create, no login, no comment section and no contact form. This policy explains the limited information that is processed when you visit, and your rights under UK data-protection law.

Information collected

This site does not ask you to submit personal data. The only data processed is:

• Server and security logs — the hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, to serve and protect the site. This is a legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.
• Analytics — only if you accept analytics cookies, aggregate, non-identifying usage data is collected via Google Analytics (see below).
• Local preferences — your light/dark theme choice and your cookie choice are stored in your own browser and are never sent to us.

The site does not knowingly collect names, email addresses or payment information, because it provides no mechanism to submit them.

Analytics

With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the pages (for example which pages are most read). IP addresses are anonymised. Sharing your data

We do not sell, trade or rent personal information. Data is processed only by the service providers that make the site work (for example Cloudflare for hosting and Google for analytics, where consented), acting on our behalf.

Data retention

Hosting logs are retained by Cloudflare for a short period under their standard practices. Google Analytics data is retained according to the property’s configured retention period. Because the site collects no directly identifying information from you, there is normally nothing personal to retain.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent to analytics at any time. This site is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
